Hello, I'm Dena AdamsonThank you for visiting my website.
Whether you are entirely new to counselling and psychotherapy, or you have had previous experience of working with a counsellor / psychotherapist, I extend a welcome to you all. Professionally, I am a retired NHS practitioner, most recently working within a local health trust. In total, I've been helping people for over 40 years, with the previous 26 years as a psychotherapist and counsellor. I work using an eclectic model mainly drawn from Transactional analysis (TA). I am also a mother, a keen historian and an avid fan of The Archers. I also enjoy live music. If you can't find the information you are looking for on my site, do please get in touch by emailing me at: hello@dena-adamson.co.uk |
Who I can help |
There really is no accurate stereotype of who seeks counselling and psychotherapy help. I work with adults (18+) of all ages; male and female; and from all social backgrounds. In fact the only thing that unites my clients is a desire to take stock, reflect and then progress emotionally. We work on our physical health and strength, why shouldn't we do the same with our mental well-being and embrace positive change?

Why I do it |
From the earliest age, I've wanted to help people. It's this influence that made me choose general and mental health nursing at the start of my career. As I've progressed within the field, this desire hasn't abated. I enable a process of exploration, enabling people to find their own path forward to recovery and emotional wellness. Ultimately, it's about seeing my clients lead healthier, happier, more fulfilling lives.
